  • Harappa was 1st excavated by Rai Bahadur DayaRam Sahni in 1921; and Mohenjo - daro by Rakhal Das Banerji in 1922. 
  • In the Indian Subcontinent, the 1st cities came into being in the valley of River Indus.
  • The harappans exchanged goods with Mesopotamia, Persia, Oman & Afghanistan.
  • The harappan script was Pictographic. It is still undeciphered.
  • Lothal, Dholavira and Gola Dhoro are the important Harappan sites in Gujarat.
  • The harappan cities declined around 1500 BC.
